Our Setting

We are fortunate to have the sole use of the Old School building which has two large well equipped rooms and a purpose built outdoor area for the children to play in.

Each day our main rooms are set up depending on the current theme and the planned activities for the day.

Inside we have a vast number of exciting activities for the children to do in order to enhance their learning these include;

  • Home Corner – kitchen, play shop, etc.
  • Arts and Crafts
  • Dressing Up
  • Singing
  • Stories
  • Baking
  • Water Play
  • Block Corner
  • Book Corner
  • Jigsaws
  • Puzzles
  • Play-dough
  • Sand Play
  • Painting

A set of patio doors leads from our main room to the outdoor area.  In 2006 this outdoor area was transformed by a grant from the Rural Development Council.

The area comprises of;

  • Climbing frame and slide
  • Bike Park with a toy petrol pump
  • Playhouse
  • Large sand pit
  • Garden area

In addition we have many toys to promote the children’s physical development, imaginative play and creativity.

We also have two Teddies who live in the playgroup Adventure Ted and Curious George.  These teddies have the very important job of making sure all the children are happy, and they are very lucky as they get to go home with a different child every weekend to have fun and adventures.  They leave the playgroup complete with their own bag and diary for the parents to write in adding photos, pictures etc and every child will get a turn to take them home throughout the year.
